King Bhumibol World Soil Day Award

The King Bhumibol World Soil Day Award is an annual recognition given to individuals or institutions that have made significant contributions to promoting the importance of healthy soils and sustainable soil management through their efforts in organizing World Soil Day events in the previous year.

Eligibility:

• Potential candidates can only be nominated by the national focal points of the Global Soil Partnership (GSP) or the permanent representations to FAO
• Nominations must follow the established procedures

Requirements:

• Organize an outstanding World Soil Day event in the previous year (1 November to 31 December)
• Event must fully align with the theme of the year
• Nomination by national focal points of GSP or permanent representations to FAO

Characteristics:

• Established by the 6th GSP Plenary Assembly
• Sponsored by the Kingdom of Thailand
• Recognizes outstanding World Soil Day event organizers from the previous year
• Awarded to individuals or institutions
